Job Description

Internship Overview:

Invenergy Wind Interns will work out of a designated energy center and will observe work of Invenergy technicians and learn how to perform basic turbine operation and maintenance tasks. As an intern, you will help to ensure the safe, compliant, and profitable operations of existing Invenergy wind fleets. This is a hands-on internship that will equip you with the necessary skills to begin an exciting career in the wind industry!

Location:

Candidates must be available to work full-time at one of the following site(s): Buckeye Energy Center in Hays, Kansas.

Duration: June 2024 to August 2024

Preferred Majors:

  • Wind Energy

  • Electronics

  • Industrial Maintenance

  • Renewable Energy

  • Sustainable Energy

  • Wind Technician Certificate

    Requirements:

  • Targeted completion of a Certification Program or Associate’s degree between May 2024 and June 2025

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Completed OSHA 10 training

  • Must be able to work outdoors in inclement weather, climb ladders without assistance, and work at heights greater than 80 meters (250 feet)

  • Ability to move and manipulate up to 45 kg (100 pounds)

  • Weight must not exceed 120 kg (265 lbs.) excluding equipment/gear worn when performing job related tasks

  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record

  • Eligible to work in the United States without the need for employer visa sponsorship now or in the future.

    Details:

  • Interns will be working at a designated energy center operated by Invenergy

  • Individuals receiving conditional offers of employment will be subject to drug testing and must receive a negative result to begin working for the company

  • Relocation expenses and/or housing allowance will not be provided

  • Eligible to work in the United States without the need for employer visa sponsorship now or in the future.
