Position Summary:  The Patient Account Representative registers new patients, verifies and pre-certifies insurance for hospital admissions; monitors all patient accounts prior to the patient seeing the doctor; verifies all insurance information; counsels patients about their accounts and handles all patient complaints regarding the account; sets up any necessary pay arrangements.

Qualifications:  Minimum requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent; medical insurance knowledge preferred; computer knowledge; excellent people skills; ability to handle stress well and cope with any situation; professionalism.   The physical guidelines for a patient accounts representative include the ability to bend, stoop, lift, sit, stand, and walk for at least eight or more hours daily; articulate speech; ability to work at desk for up to eight hours per day.

Work Schedule:  Monday -- Friday, 8:00 a.m. -- 5:00 p.m.
