This job is for an Assistant Men's and Women's Tennis Coach at a community college in Perkinston, MS.

Job Description: The Assistant Men's and Women's Tennis Coach shall be responsible for assisting the Head Men's and Women's Tennis Coach in carrying out the responsibilities and supervision of the tennis program. The Assistant Tennis Coach will have direct responsibility to the Head Tennis Coach.

Duties and Responsibilities: Assist Head Men's and Women's Tennis Coach with on-the-field coaching at practices and games. Be knowledgeable of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) and Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference (MACCC) rules and regulations. Recruit and supervise student-athletes with integrity and with a professional attitude. Assist with preparing the tennis facility for daily use including organizing and maintaining the locker rooms, setting up practice stations, etc. Assist with preparing the tennis facility for home matches. Prepare travel requests for away games and recruiting trips. Attend all meetings requested by the Head Men's and Women's Tennis Coach and/or College Dean of Athletics. Assist the Head Men's and Women's Tennis Coach in organizing and running scheduled tennis camps in an effort to raise funds for the tennis program. Responsible for obtaining team meal money from the Business Office as needed. On-site supervision of student-athletes in residential facilities in accordance with duties as outlined by the College Dean of Athletics and Head Men's and Women's Tennis Coach. Perform all other duties as may be assigned by the Head Men's and Women's Tennis Coach, College Dean of Athletics, or Campus Vice President.

 

Qualifications:

Mandatory: Minimum of an Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited college. A demonstrated record of championship playing/coaching experience. Coaching experience in men's or women's tennis. Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills.

Desirable: Master's Degree from a regionally accredited college or university. Coaching experience at the collegiate level. Recruiting experience at the collegiate level. Familiarity with basic internet, email, and word processing functions. An understanding of and a commitment to the comprehensive community college philosophy.
