B & G MANUFACTURING COMPANY IN CNC Programmer in Hatfield, Pennsylvania

JOB SUMMARY Responsible for programming on all CNC systems used by the company and for providing technical support to the shop when needed to help eliminate interrupted production schedules. Works in close cooperation with lead personnel, setup personnel, and shop supervisors to assure the production of high-quality machined components.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.  Other duties may be assigned. Provide accurate and timely programming of all CNC program systems and CNC work centers as assigned, from blueprint to first article. Provides technical support to lead personnel and setup personnel  as needed, including training on set ups, program changes, as well as assisting in resolving problems to avoid production delays and maximize productivity. Insures accuracy of jobs through the shop by identifying and correcting errors and/or changes on prints when needed.  Collaborates with engineering to assure accurate machine operations. Researches and applies knowledge of various materials, insert grades and the tooling required in all machining operations. Reduces tooling costs through continuous improvement initiatives. Develops a thorough knowledge of blue print reading and have the ability to interpret most drawings. Accurately operate and gain a thorough understanding of all aspects of the Factory Wiz DNC system. Utilizes CAM software to perform time studies on most machine parts as required. Provides estimated cycle times to engineering personnel as requested. Reduces machine cycle times by optimizing programs and tooling, and reducing downtime, resulting in increased productivity. Set a positive professional example for machine operators.  Provide programming training for new employees as designated by supervisor.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities) Minimum 5 yrs. experience working as a CNC Lathe & Mill Programmer from blueprint to first article Minimum 2yrs Master Cam, Esprit, and/or SolidCam software experience CNC skills required include: blueprint reading, set-up, tooling, and troubleshooting; multi-axis programming Experience with Quality Control testing equipment Experience training CNC lathe & mill machining, programming and troubleshooting skills
