Dakota County Mobile Clinic Driver (Part-time Temporary) in Hastings, Minnesota

General Description: POSTING TYPE: Open-competitive DEPARTMENT: Public Health HOURS: Part time, temporary HOURLY RATE: $18.50 - 20.50hour (DOQ) LOCATION: Dakota County UNION: None CLOSE DATE: Moved to continuous with first review of applications 4/10/2024 Dakota County is currently seeking temporary staff to work as a team to transport and set up our Mobile Trailer at Community Vaccine Clinics. One staff person will drive the truck and trailer while the other helps to spot, setup and take down equipment at the site. Both staff will be paid for the hours worked for transport and the clinic hours. Staff may be asked to provide general support assistance during clinic. Position is expected to be 5-7 hours every other week. We anticipate that this position will begin in May and run into September. The vaccine clinics will be set so candidates will know their expected workdays in advance. Please apply if you are interested in helping the County s Public Health Department with vaccine efforts and are looking to make some extra money this summer. Duties & Responsibilities: 1. Drive Mobile Clinic Trailer to assigned location. 2. Set up & take down Mobile Clinic Trailer at the site. 3. Return the Mobile Clinic Trailer to the Empire Transportation Facility. 4. Set up and take down tables, chairs and tents. 5. Follow Instructions given by Fleet Staff on operations of trailer and setup needs and on-site Public Health Staff. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities and Work Environment: Ability to lift and carry up to 35 pounds Knowledge and ability to drive larger vehicle with enclosed trailer Knowledge and ability to backup and maneuver truck and trailer in various settings. WORK ENVIRONMENT: Work is sedentary while driving the truck and trailer, but involves lifting and setup of the trailer and associated clinic materials (tables, chairs, small tents). SELECTION PROCESS: The examination/selection process for this classification will consist of a screening of minimum qualifications and a short interview to determine qualification of candidates. Candidates must be able to pass a criminal and driving background and drug test.
