Description
We have an exciting opportunity to join our global tax team based in Gurgaon, India. This is a new opening for an experienced Manager to support the international markets for tax accounting, compliance & reporting at American Express. The successful candidate will gain experience covering a wide range of international jurisdictions supporting US GAAP tax provisioning, and liaising with a third party provider in connection with local statutory reporting and compliance responsibilities.
Responsibilities:
Review of the returns for APAC/EMEA markets for Direct and Indirect Taxes
Working collaboratively with the tax compliance outsource provider to support a range of international Markets for compliance.
Excellent technical knowledge of Direct and Indirect tax compliance is required
Review of tax Statutory notes (Financial Statements- Note) forming part of financial statements.
Review and reconciliation of Tax sensitive accounts for various markets.
Experience in Leading various projects and initiatives for Compliance.
. Experience in leading a team .
Review and signoff of the local tax return for international markets.
Must have the ability to coordinate and work with cross-function teams
Review the RTC under usgaap for various International markets
Build and manage an excellent day to day professional relationship with team and ensuring that all compliances meet the timelines.
Ability to effectively communicate key messages to colleagues, business partners, and senior leaders
Look forward for Automation opportunities in existing processes and improving them.

Requirements:
Certification(s) Required: CA is mandatory
12-15 years of experience working on international tax and/or accounting matters
Big 4 experience a plus
Willingness to work across regions / time zones & build relationships across Finance
Excellent MS Excel skills and good MS Office skills (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word)
Strong analytical skills, including a proven ability to translate complex and disparate information into a comprehensive and cohesive conclusion
Ability to effectively communicate key messages to colleagues, business partners, and senior leaders
Effectively coach, train and develop a team of managers and analysts in all aspects of their role
