Description

We are offering an exciting opportunity for a dedicated Accounting Clerk in Decatur, Alabama. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining financial records in a precise and timely manner. You will be working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a focus on delivering quality results.

Responsibilities:

• Analyze accounts payable transactions to ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies

• Maintain and reconcile accounts payable and receivable ledger to validate charges and ensure accurate and timely payments

• Utilize AP data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvements or cost savings

• Communicate with vendors and customers as needed, investigate and resolve discrepancies in billings and payments

• Collaborate with adjacent departments to streamline processes and recommend improvements to accounts payable policies and procedures

• Manage inventory purchase orders, check requests, and other related documentation for completeness and compliance with financial policies, procedures, and contractual requirements

• Perform calculations to determine appropriate payment schedules and amounts, making modifications as necessary

• Code, verify, and electronically enter accounts payable data into QuickBooks with the correct account, department, and period

• Maintain vendor files and reconcile corporate credit card statement on a monthly basis

• Assist with department month-end close process

• Other duties as assigned by the department manager

Requirements • Minimum of 3 years of experience as an Accounting Clerk or in a related role

• Proficiency in Account Reconciliation

• Experience with Accounts Payable (AP)

• Strong skills in Invoice Processing

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required

• Experience with QuickBooks software is an advantage

• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field is preferred

• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion

• Proven ability to meet deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment.
