Join a fast-paced, credit-oriented business working with a talented team that is focused on delivering analytical tools to enable the company to better manage and monitor its products. The Sr. Business Intelligence Consultant will be responsible for leading and delivering dashboards and analytic capabilities for the Global Specialty Bond business area. The ideal candidate will have a strategic perspective, an aptitude for collaborating with business customers, and attention to delivery. A strong focus on promotion and adoption of the business intelligence and analytical solutions are key success criteria for the position.

This successful candidate will execute a roadmap for delivering analytical capabilities, as well as prioritization and coordination of the team backlog. Other responsibilities include designing and delivering end-to-end BI solutions, guiding and inspiring other BI Consultant teammates, and ensuring adherence to delivery best practices.

This role can have a Remote or Hybrid work arrangement. Candidates who live near one of our office locations will have the expectation of working in an office 3 days a week (Tuesday through Thursday) Candidates who do not live near an office will have a remote work arrangement, with the expectation of coming into an office as business needs arise.

Responsibilities

  • Execute an analytical capability roadmap for the Global Specialty Bond business unit

  • Create dashboards and visual analytics to aid business partners in decision making

  • Guide, grow and motivate a team of BI Consultants

  • Build business relationships to deeply understand the business - what is needed to run the business and the current challenges that exist

  • Partner with business customers to interpret and analyze the dashboards and results, helping to guide decision making

  • Partner with IT, data and other BI organizations to advance data & analytical capabilities throughout the Enterprise

  • Support the team in solving complex data or analytical problems

  • Management & delivery of high-priority or advanced BI/data/analytical capabilities

  • Thought leader for advancing analytical capabilities within organization

  • Ensure adherence to & reinforcement of delivery best practices

  • Assist in the implementation of repeatable processes

  • Champion data quality, integrity and reliability throughout the department by designing and promoting best practices

Qualifications

The ideal candidate for the BI Consultant position has a passion for building BI/analytical/data solutions, is results-oriented and has strong leadership skills. A successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following qualities in a fast-paced environment:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience building business intelligence, analytical, data engineering or data science solutions

  • Strong data visualization development experience, Tableau expertise preferred

  • Ability to understand complex data and interpret data visualizations in regards to business objectives

  • Ability to set priorities and plans to meet business goals and objectives

  • Ability to shift & balance strategic, high-level thinking with attention to detail

  • Ability to lead, motivate & influence without having formal authority

  • Ability to act as a thought leader with a focus on innovative & high-quality solutions

  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment with internal /external customers

  • Ability to understand, design & implement end-to-end BI work flows

  • Strong organizational, planning & problem solving skills

  • Strong communication & interpersonal skills

  • Credit or financial analysis knowledge a plus

Compensation

The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:

$87,600 - $131,400
