Position Summary

This role will be responsible for assisting in the financial planning, forecasting and analytics of the individual business. As an individual contributor this position will collaborate across a wide variety of constituents including local market finance, actuarial, expense management, PMO, IT and many more business areas. This role will work with the team and assist in expense management, planning and forecasting support, monthly close management, tools development and more.

  • Assist in the creation of excel documents and financial modeling for the planning and forecasting processes with local market finance and actuarial teams

  • Assist in the creation of excel documents for expense modeling and investment support

  • Development of tools and reports using Excel, Access, Oracle, S4, Anaplan, and Hyperion to support ongoing management process and analytics

  • Assist with monthly close by ensuring all relevant items are appropriately reflected in the close

  • Document all processes in our department after they have been built to create standard operating procedures.

Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Planning and forecasting – ACS Finance is centrally managed by the business finance organization with results reported in the markets. This position will assist the financial team to obtain and finalize forecast results, coordinate with commercial FP&A to get it loaded into the system, and ultimately collaborate with the markets to ensure the results are appropriate/signed off. (25%)

  • Monthly close support – This position will focus on the monthly close results and make sure that all appropriate items are coming in and check for reasonability. Tools will need to be created by this role using Excel and analytics. All findings will need to be presented to the team in a timely manner since close is a tight turnaround. (25%)

  • Management process and tools development – ACS Finance will provide separate reporting in the monthly close and other ad hoc requests from the business. This role will create reports in Excel for all of these needs while ensuring strong controls and alignment with the data in the financial systems (Oracle, Hyperion, Anaplan, and S4). As a new business there are no existing models or tools. (15%)

  • SG&A Management – This role will assist in maintaining the expense forecasting tools in excel. This tool supports ongoing expansion efforts and confirming which states we will look to enter in the future. This role will help identify areas where we can expand and present them to the team. (20%)

  • All Other Project Support –. This role will also support regulatory reporting needs, risk adjustment validation, executing controls and confirming appropriateness of results, etc. (15%)

Required Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of experience with Financial systems

  • 1-3 years of Financial acumen

  • 1-3 years of experience with Financial concepts, reporting, and modeling

  • 1-3 years of experience with Financial planning and forecasting

  • 1-3 years of experience with Complex excel formulas to support models

Preferred Qualifications

  • Work independently

  • Collaborate with other parties, primarily internal constituents

  • Limited to no travel expected for the role

  • Demonstrate strong analytical skills

  • Insurance or healthcare industry knowledge preferred but not required

  • Expense management

  • Legal entity or reporting impacts

  • Strong technical skills in data visualization or automation tools

  • Understand complex actuarial concepts and reserve setting

Education:

  • Bachelor degree required or equivalent experience. Masters' degree preferred.

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$43,700.00 - $107,200.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
