Ingenium Developer

A skilled Ingenium Developer who will be collaborating with business analysts and technical teams to design, develop, and implement complex solutions on the Ingenium platform

Essential Job Functions:

  • Collaborate with business analysts in the design and documentation of complex and detailed technical specifications. 

  • Participation of functional walkthroughs and understand business requirements and the related processing requirements.

  • Use technical expertise to translate business requirements into technical specifications. Converting business requirements into INGENIUM code. Identification of optimal solutions for business requirements/issues.

  • Design technical solutions that meet the requirements while considering factors such as scalability, performance, and security. Applying knowledge of INGENIUM online and batch processing for implementation of business requirements.

  • Document the technical specifications in a clear and detailed manner, ensuring that all requirements are captured and communicated effectively to the development team.

  • Deliver efficiently programmed and tested technical solutions supporting new and modified insurance business solutions and processes.

  • Engage in an iterative process to refine and update technical specifications as needed based on feedback and changes in business requirements.

  • Ensure that the technical specifications align with the overall goals and objectives of the project, as well as any relevant industry standards or best practices.

  • Debugging INGENIUM business process flows for analysis of requirements/issues.

  • Work seamlessly alongside technical team members in the programming / development and unit testing of technical specifications. Development of Unit Test Plan, writing Unit Test Cases and their execution.

  • Support other project teams in testing phase and defect resolution.

  • Work towards continuous improvement within the development process, exploring new ways to increase efficiencies and enhance the client’s experience.

  • Act as coach and mentor in the transfer of knowledge and to ensure post project readiness.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (i.e., Computer Science) or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Relevant experience, typically 2+ years of relevant software engineering experience

  • Previous experience as a programmer analyst or developer working on projects related to INGENIUM, whether it involves implementation, upgrade, or enhancement.

  • Understanding the architecture of INGENIUM and hands-on experience in developing within this framework.

  • Familiarity with various life insurance products such as whole life, term, disability, universal life, wealth, and health products.

  • Ability to demonstrate practical knowledge of INGENIUM's product and its functionality within business processes.

  • Proven capability to develop accurate and efficient technical specifications and programming solutions based on complex and detailed business requirements.

  • Understanding and experience with all stages of the INGENIUM project lifecycle, from inception to deployment and maintenance.

  • Previous experience working within an Agile environment, implying familiarity with Agile principles and methodologies.

  • Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies, processes, and changing priorities in a fast-paced work environment.

  • Capability to collaborate effectively with multiple internal business and technology departments in an Agile project setup.

  • Proven record of consistently meeting or exceeding desired business outcomes through modifications to INGENIUM and integrated software applications.

  • Proficiency in planning, prioritizing, and executing work, as well as identifying issues and providing timely solutions.

  • INGENIUM, Pathfinder, ProductXpress

  • COBOL, JCL, DB2, SQL, VSAM, REXX, CICS, MQ Series

  • Cobol, JCL, DB2, VSAM, CICS, REXX Scripts, MQ Series

  • Hands on experience with Windows/Unix/AIX OS platforms    

  • Microfocus Cobol Eclipse / Visual Studio

  • Microfocus Enterprise Test Server, CA7 

  • Workspace setup and debugging

Other Qualifications:

• Advanced degree in a related field is a plus

• Relevant certifications or training a plus

Compensation at DXC is influenced by an array of factors, including but not limited to the experience, job-related knowledge, skills, competencies, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. A reasonable estimate of the current compensation range for this position is $50,400 - $93,500.

Full-time hires are eligible to participate in the DXC benefit program.
