What Legal Operations contributes to Cardinal Health

Legal provides the company with strategic, proactive, practical, and cost-effective legal advice and services in order to protect the organization's assets, operations and image. This function provides legal counsel related to commercial, corporate securities, intellectual property, labor and employment, and regulatory law, among other areas. This function also litigates all company legal matters, manages outside counsel and manages legal operations.

Legal Operations provides business support that enable the legal team to serve their clients effectively by applying business practices to the delivery of legal services. This job family provides strategic planning, spend management, project management, process improvement and technology expertise that enables legal professionals to provide legal counsel.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret, coordinate, and monitor the overall processing of monthly and transactional billing and forecasting for groups within the Legal and Compliance Department.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Serve as the point of contact for billing inquiries from vendors, outside counsel, and various Cardinal Health department employees (e.g., Legal, Finance, Accounting).

  • Assist in improving the total value the Legal and Compliance Department receives from external and internal spend.

  • Provide department users with on-going support and best practice guidance of core billing and Legal applications such as Ariba, Buy Now, SAP, and Legal Tracker.

  • Run and analyze reports as requested to support operational and strategic goals.

  • Provide status reports regarding projects and initiatives in requested format and frequency.

  • Identify needs for, create new, and document processes and reports to support projects, business needs or departmental goals.

Qualifications

  • 0-5 years of experience, preferred

  • Bachelor's degree in related field, or equivalent work experience, preferred

  • Flexible, growth mindset

  • Excellent customer service, active listening, and communication skills

  • Ability to interact with all levels of employees

  • Ability to prioritize numerous tasks with a positive attitude

  • Willing to learn and adapt to new technology

  • Strong attention to detail

Anticipated hourly range: $25.80 per hour - $36.80 per hour
