General Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and analytical Business Intelligence lead to join our dynamic team at an automotive manufacturing company. As a Business Intelligence Lead, you will play a crucial role in driving data-driven decision-making and providing valuable insights that contribute to the growth and success of our organization. You will be responsible for collecting, analyzing, and visualizing data to support various business functions and facilitate strategic planning. The ideal candidate has a strong background in data analysis, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to translate complex data into meaningful and actionable insights. This position will support many facilities within the region and report to the regional lead within this function. Remote work is possible. Some travel may be required.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Technical Lead for Business Intelligence systems, development, and implementations.
  • Administrate and support existing BI structure and lead the development of new initiatives to ensure delivery of quality Business Intelligence solutions.
  • Develop and support new and existing ETL solutions and data integrations for local and regional business requirements.
  • Work with database administrators to optimize databases and ensure data accuracy and completeness.
  • Perform data mining and analysis to identify trends, patterns, and correlations that drive business decisions.
  • Develop and maintain interactive dashboards, reports, and visualizations using a variety of BI tools such as Tableau, PowerBI, and Grafana.
  • Create and maintain data catalogs to facilitate easy data discovery and access.
  • Implement and maintain data quality checks and procedures to identify and rectify data discrepancies.
  • Present data-driven insights to stakeholders and management, effectively communicating complex information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify reporting needs and provide actionable recommendations based on data analysis.
  • Assist in creating, maintaining, and testing the Disaster Recovery Plan.
  • Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and develop performance monitoring systems to measure the success of various business initiatives.
  • Conduct forecasting and predictive modeling to support strategic planning and resource allocation decisions.
  • Identify areas for improvement and recommend data-driven solutions to enhance operational efficiency and profitability.

Qualifications, Education, Work Experience, Certification:

  • Working knowledge of commonly required business systems.
  • Proficiency in programming and query languages necessary to support reporting requirements.
  • Understand Microsoft-based productivity software.
  • Proven experience as a Business Intelligence Lead or similar role in an automotive manufacturing company or related industry desired but not required.
  • Working knowledge of data mining techniques and tools.
  • Experience in catalog creation for efficient data discovery.
  • Knowledge of dashboard and report development using various BI tools.
  • Familiarity with Cognos, SSRS, administration and migration is advantageous.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to solve complex problems through analysis, proposing and implementing appropriate countermeasures based on timing, quality, and cost.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to derive insights from complex data sets.
  • Strong communication (written and oral) and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated self-starter to complete tasks in a timely manner and with minimal direction. Self-directed and motivated when given objectives.
  • Strong individual performer and a strong member when working within a team environment.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Good interpersonal and negotiation skills. Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to interact with employees at all levels.
  • Familiarity with automotive manufacturing processes, supply chain management, and related business functions is preferred.

Education: Bachelor's degree, applicable certificates, or equivalent IT experience.

Experience: 5+ years of experience in a similar role.
