Description

Responsible for supporting the development, design, and testing of electrical components, equipment, systems, and network that includes facilities, components, products, and systems for commercial, industrial, and domestic purposes.

Level: An Entry Professional (P1) applies broad theoretical job knowledge typically obtained through advanced education. Responsibilities typically include: Work is closely supervised; Problems faced are not typically difficult or complex; Explains facts, policies and practices related to job area.

Specialization Match Note: Technologists apply engineering principles in the implementation of products, systems, and processes. This differs from Engineers who use theoretical aspects of engineering principles to research and conceptually design products, systems, processes, etc. Some countries may require Technologists to have a formal certification or registration and/or a formal Technologist Degree to practice as a Technologist. Professional Technicians have a Technical Degree and some incumbents have a combination of both education/experience. Para-Professional Technicians are responsible for maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting, and may not have any certifications/education but experience.
