Billsby Lumber Company Sawmill Maintenance Technician in Harrison, Michigan

Role Description:

This is a full-time on-site role as a Sawmill Maintenance Technician located in Harrison, MI.  As a Sawmill Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for performing maintenance and repairs on sawmill equipment, including troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues, conducting regular inspections, and ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the sawmill.  You will collaborate with the maintenance team to develop and implement preventative maintenance plans, maintain inventory of spare parts, and assist in equipment installation and upgrades.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Maintenance Technician or similar role
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
  • Knowledge of sawmill equipment and systems
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics
  • Basic computer skills
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy objects
  • Certification in maintenance or relevant field is a plus

*Base salary range:   *$22.00 - $25.00 per hour
