Traffic Planning & Design Senior Project Manager in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania

Ranked the overall #4 Best Civil Engineering Firm to Work for in the Nation (#1 in our size category), and residing on the list of the Engineering News Record (ENR)’s Top 500 Design Firms in the nation, TPD (Traffic Planning and Design, Inc.) is currently hiring dynamic Engineers at all levels.

Duties and Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Manage transportation projects and tasks involving highway, bridge, and traffic improvements.

  • Coordinate effectively with local, agency, and state staff and officials, and with internal task leaders and staff.

  • Manage, review, and sign/seal plans and reports.

  • Possess a working knowledge of transportation-related activities such as environmental clearance, environmental permitting, utility clearance, right-of-way clearance, etc.

  • Possess a working knowledge of pre-bid documents such as tabulation sheets, summary sheets, pre-bid construction schedules, construction cost estimates, etc.

  • Manage and mentor junior staff, and coordinate effectively across teams within the company.

  • Actively participate in the company’s business development activities such as meetings, networking, statements of interest, qualifications packages, technical proposals, price proposals, etc.

  • Actively participate in the company’s professional development program, which includes participation in industry organizations such as ACEC/PA, APC, ASCE, etc.).

    Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.

  • Licensed Professional Engineer in Pennsylvania.

  • Project Management experience for PennDOT and/or PA Turnpike projects.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Ability to interact effectively with local, agency, and state staff and officials.

  • Ability to manage staff and coordinate effectively in a team-based atmosphere.

  • Willingness to actively participate in the company’s business development and professional development initiatives.

  • Strong work ethic, positive can-do attitude, and ability to multitask.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Valid Driver’s License.
