Do you want to be part of a team tasked with keeping Pennsylvania's roads safe this winter? Are you hardworking and have experience conducting automotive or building maintenance? PennDOT is seeking Winter Tradesman Helpers andWinter Semi-Skilled Laborers to join our team during the winter months.  These positions assist in the maintenance and service of the Commonwealth's fleet, equipment, and facilities, apply to join our team!

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Winter Tradesman Helper, you will perform a variety of semi-skilled tasks assisting tradesman in motorized equipment maintenance and repair, building maintenance, and construction.

As a Winter Semi-Skilled Laborer,  you will assist with building maintenance as well as act as a mechanic's helper performing small repairs such as lubrication jobs, light repairs and tire changes, cleaning and painting equipment.

Opportunities are based on operational needs, so there may not be open positions for each job title in every county. To see counties where you might be interested in working, view PennDOT's District. Work Hours and Additional Information: Salary: Winter Tradesman Helpers earn $16.86, hourly. Winter Semi-Skilled Laborers earn $16.86, hourly. These are seasonal positions lasting from September through April, but there are frequent opportunities for promotion that include excellent benefits and career advancement.    REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS - Winter Tradesman Helper Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

Previous experience working with mechanics is preferred but not required. Necessary Special Requirements:

Certain positions may require possession of a valid PA non-commercial Class C driver's license. QUALIFICATIONS - Winter Semi-Skilled Laborer Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: One year of experience in laboring work including the use of tools and equipment used in maintenance or construction; or An equivalent combination of experience and training. Necessary Special Requirements:
