Job Description

The Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) team can allow you to build and operate a massive scale, integrated cloud services in a broadly distributed, multi-tenant cloud environment. The AI Networking Performance and Operations team operates RDMA networks that connect GPU clusters for larger AI/ML workloads. As the team manager, you will drive the rollout of optimizations and granule tuning to achieve maximum performance from OCI's globally deployed RDMA networks. You will drive and support networking engineers during customer escalations and troubleshooting sessions by applying your networking and software architecture knowledge that will surprise and delight our customers. You will also drive enhancements within an existing software/network architecture and suggest improvements to the architecture, including managing control activities in multi-functional areas of the business. Ensures appropriate operational planning is effectively executed to meet Corporate specifications. Demonstrated leadership and people management skills. Strong communication skills, analytical skills, and a thorough understanding of product development.

The biggest challenges for the team are understanding a cutting-edge domain, dealing with abstract problem statements and shaping the product. The dynamic and fast growth of the business is driving us to improve the ability of our systems to scale out and meet the capacity and network demands of our large-scale customers.

You would be responsible for providing leadership, direction, and strategy to the team, establishing and developing the team to meet and execute the plan, working with geographically distributed teams, and contributing to the success of your team and other related teams. We expect you to deliver large-scale projects on time and of high quality.

Responsibilities

Required Qualifications

  • MS or BS in Computer Science, Network/Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience.

  • 3+ years of experience managing network engineering teams.

  • 6+ years of large-scale network engineering experience.

  • Experience delivering and operating large-scale, highly available distributed networks.

  • Ability to work in a collaborative, cross-functional team environment.

  • Solid understanding of key networking technologies needed for the cloud including: network design and fabrics, networking protocols, network automation, network telemetry and common hardware platforms.

  • Understand the end-to-end configuration, technical dependencies, and overall behavioral characteristics of production services.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, analytical skills, and project management skills

  • Understanding of service metrics and alarms through the development of dashboards, service KPIs, alarming systems.

  • Experience working in an operational environment with mission-critical tier-one services with associated pager duty.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Building teams and organizations in a v1 product development setting

  • Experience working with internal and external customers and translating requests into prioritized work or features

  • Experience working with Data Center Infrastructure Management systems and tools.

  • Experience using in CICD environments.

  • Experience using Jira

  • Experience using Grafana

Range and benefit information provided in this posting are specific to the stated locations only

Canada: Hiring Range from $101,200 to $221,000 CAD per annum

US: Hiring Range: from $112,300 to $251,600 per annum. May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.

Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.
