The Department of Health might have the perfect job for you! We are searching for a Health Facility Plan Reviewer to join our team. The incumbent in this position is responsible for the review and approval of building plans, blueprints and specifications for health care facilities with respect to construction, alterations, renovations and use of the health care facilities. DESCRIPTION OF WORK Duties of a Health Facility Plan Reviewer include reviewing providers' plan of corrections to determine compliance and regulations are achieved. You also evaluate each project reviewed and refer to agencies having jurisdiction over the project. In addition, you survey health care facilities with special issues, and facilities under construction to ensure continued compliance is upheld and assist with meeting compliance with minimum hardship. You also suggest changes and modifications and explain official interpretations of various regulations to several parties.

Additional duties include reviewing and ensuring completion using the most current state and federally adopted codes and regulations for each specific health care facility type. You answer questions pertaining to construction requirements for health care facilities and consult with employees in other divisions to obtain interpretations of licensure regulations, or to resolve problems encountered in achieving compliance. In addition, you provide written reports covering all drawing reviews, site visitations, surveys, and owner or architect meetings.

At times, you may be assigned to respond to a public health emergency. These emergency assignments could be received with little or no advance notice. Also, these assignments could last as little as a few hours, and as much as a few weeks and may require traveling to a site for long periods of time.
