The Department of Drug and Alcohol Programs is looking for a highly motivated, detail-oriented professional with data reporting, technical assistance and problem-solving skills.  As a Licensing Specialist in the Bureau of Program Licensure, Division of Licensing Operations, you have the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of Pennsylvanians receiving treatment for substance use disorder.

This position travels extensively to facilities located in urban, suburban and rural areas of the Commonwealth.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK As a Drug and Alcohol Licensing Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring drug and/or alcohol treatment facilities and recovery houses are providing drug and/or alcohol treatment services/rehabilitative services to individuals with complex addictions and co-occurring disorders in a safe environment where effective treatment can be provided. These facilities range from drug and alcohol recovery houses, hospital-based medically managed detoxification to outpatient treatment. You will be responsible for determining federal and state regulatory licensing compliance, providing technical assistance, consultation and administrative support and acting as a liaison between drug and alcohol treatment facilities, recovery houses and other service providers, federal and state government entities, and funding sources.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment. Work hours are 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, Monday - Friday, with 60-minute lunch. Frequent travel required, including some overnight travel; overtime as needed. Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: One year of professional experience gathering and analyzing information in a social services, human services, healthcare services, or law enforcement program; or An equivalent combination of experience and training.
