The Harrisburg Community Corrections Center (CCC) helps individuals leaving the prison system get ready to transition back to their families and communities. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Corrections Community Center Monitor, you will provide care, custody, and control of reentrants assigned to the Harrisburg CCC. The center monitors ensure the safety and security of the CCC. Your duties will include observing reentrant behavior through one-on-one and group interactions and a CCTV system. You will also conduct reentrant counts, perform searches of their person and property, and maintain their prescriptions. You will also maintain the sign-in and sign-out registers for the reentrants and visitors. The monitor conducts the orientation for the reentrants to review the rules and regulations of the facility and provides information on the availability of public services. An additional duty is attending disciplinary hearings with any written behavior observations, issues, or misconduct.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment Community Corrections Centers are staffed by three (3) work shifts that cover the facility 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. The beginning salary for this position is $18.38 per hour ($38,348 annually). QUALIFICATIONS Additional Requirements: You must be able to work in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.

You must be able to work different shifts or irregular scheduled hours. You must successfully complete 3 weeks of classroom training at the DOC Training Academy in Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania. You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Preferred Qualifications (not required): Two (2) years of experience performing public safety or security work. (Examples of qualifying experience include, but are not limited to:  public safety or security work involving protection of persons and/or property and maintaining required security through enforcement of rules, regulations and laws; public safety or security work in a correctional setting, juvenile or adult development/detention center, law enforcement entity, or military security experience) One (1) year of work experience providing direction/guidance to individuals. (Examples of qualifying work experience include but are not limited to:  performing as a lead worker or supervisor assigning and evaluating work tasks, providing informal counseling, or giving orders in the Military).
