DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES: As a part of our Construction Management Team, the Construction Specialist II will help ensure the construction of highways and bridges is performed and managed according to the plans and specifications. You will assist in supporting the construction inspection team and support the construction management team with project activities and documentation. You will also build and maintain relationships with the client managers. You will act as an agent of the client in dealing with contractors. You will be responsible to assist in the development of proposals to win new work. You may be required to perform as the client project Specialist 2 as needed. You will also address program issues and policy directions.

Can you walk me through a typical day of a Construction Specialist II ? * Your day would be spent working in an office environment with significant activities in the field on a construction site. * You will evaluate Construction Inspectors' activities and recommend opportunities to improve their performance. * You will train construction inspectors in performing their duties. * You will generate project documents and recommend changes as appropriate. * You will monitor the contractor's performance as it pertains to delivering a program. * Manage contractual commitments for multiple contracts including costs, quality, schedule, and field activities. * Drafts moderately complex correspondence to the contractors and others. * You will feel a sense of pride in knowing that you are helping to build the highway system in your area.

Could you be the Construction Specialist II we are looking for? * 7-10 years of experience including extensive construction management and inspection experience on transportation projects including, highway, bridge, railroad, and associated work and experience on PennDOT / Turnpike projects. * A valid driver's license and personal transportation * Experience with Scheduling, Cost Estimating and Value Engineering * You will need computer skills to write reports, evaluate schedules, provided cost estimates generate excel spreadsheets and other calculations. * English language skills, written and verbal, are required in this role. Additionally, you will need to make presentations to industry groups, clients, and others. * You will need to be able to traverse construction sites and be outdoors in various climates.

COMPENSATION The approximate compensation range for this position is $82,326- $118,858 in Harrisburg, PA. This compensation range is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Actual compensation is dependent upon factors such as education, qualifications, experience, skillset, and physical work location.
