In this position...

We're looking for an advanced chassis engineer to join the underbody systems architecture team in Dearborn, MI to support pre-program start and project management.

As a member of a functional architecture team, you are responsible for the up-front system design work and decision-making inputs on all-new Ford & Lincoln products, including next-gen EV architectures. Our functional architecture team is responsible for suspension, steering, brakes, wheels/tires, and chassis systems.

What you'll do...

Responsible for content, cost, weight, investment, engineering head count, and timing alignment with program and production execution teams.

Deliver piece cost finance status at program start.

Interface to production execution engineering, best cost team, finance, purchasing, and program teams.

Organize milestone reviews for functional management team.

Initiate part sourcing workstreams.

Support pre-cycle plan feasibility studies.

You'll have...

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, or related degree.

3+ years of engineering experience.

2+ years of automotive chassis experience.

Even better, you may have...

Strong business acumen.

Strong cross-functional & communication skills.

Strong problem solving and interpersonal skills.

Knowledge of mechanical integration & installation requirements, package & assembly.

Experience with CATIA V5/V6 and 3DX is a plus.

Experience with FEA (ANSYS or Hypermesh) is a plus.

Experience with ADAMS is a plus.

Experience with underhood / underbody / dash package & mechanical integration/installation a plus.

This position is a range of salary grades SG5-SG8.
