Job Summary

Reviews, analyzes, modifies, creates, debugs, designs, and tests applications such as REDCap projects using modern development methodologies and tools such as Python, MS Project/Planner, etc. Provides key insight in project/survey design. A key player on a multidisciplinary team and will engage in all aspects of the application development life cycle as needed for each project to be successful.

Job Duties

  • Responsible for the process, life cycle and creation of the software to assist users in completing a computer task or program.

  • Implements code and documents all system changes based on assignments and timelines.

  • Develops and follows department coding and user interface guidelines.

  • Provides code review, testing, debugging, technical documentation, general testing instructions, go-live planning, assistance in go-live moves, and post-live support.

  • Communicates any and all progress, roadblocks, and issues to the team and management in a timely manner.

  • Provides training and documentation to team members on new development assignments.

  • Trains and mentors staff members.

  • Assists in the development and documentation of a technical approach for a solution to the team stakeholders.

  • Design data structures to accommodate database production, storage, maintenance, accessibility, project management, and facilitates connection with other platforms.

  • Database and form development and programming, utilizing REDCap and other applications, data management and report preparation, collaborating with a team of project investigators, managers, and analysts.

  • Design, develop and maintain ancillary APIs and scripts needed to allow automated access and transformation of data, utilizing REDCap and other applications, using a Python and PHP.

  • Proficiency with REDCap required.

  • Knowledge of Python, MariaDB (or MySQL), PHP and REST APIs and project management software systems preferred.
