DESCRIPTION OF WORK This position encompasses a range of engineering, technical, and administrative responsibilities that are crucial for supporting air quality permitting functions at a statewide level. It involves conducting and reviewing risk assessments for toxic air pollutants, with a focus on human health and ecological impacts. The aim is to establish and implement risk values and guidance that align with the requirements of the federal clean air act (CAA) and Pennsylvania air pollution control act (APCA), as well as the relevant regulations.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with 60-minute lunch. Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 3 days per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Two years as an Air Quality Engineering Specialist; or Three years of professional experience in air quality engineering or environmental engineering, and possession of a valid Professional Engineer license issued by the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists; or Four years of professional experience in air quality engineering or environmental engineering, and possession of a valid Engineer-in-Training certificate issued by or acceptable to the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists; or Three years of professional experience in air quality engineering or environmental engineering, and a bachelor's degree in the field of engineering. Graduate study in chemical, mechanical, electrical or environmental engineering may be substituted for the required experience on a year-for- year basis. Conditions of Employment:
This position requires possession of a valid Pennsylvania driver's license.
