Join the Bureau of Elections in this Administrative Assistant 1 position to participate in the efficient processing of tasks related to Pennsylvania and federal election laws while working closely with the Civic Engagement and Language Access Coordinator to support our multilingual voter education efforts and civic engagement programs. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position you will provide administrative and technical assistance to support Bureau of Elections in functions related to Pennsylvania Election Code and assist with all Bureau calls and walk-ins. Spanish or Chinese fluency is preferred but not required. You will research complaints, respond to inquiries, and resolve problems brought to the Bureau regarding election related matters. This includes drafting and preparing correspondence regarding the administration of the state and federal election law.

Attention to detail and effective analytical abilities are essential for this position. You will review election related publications and instruction materials, recommend revisions, and coordinate requests for translations from vendors, as well as enter data for various statistical reports required by state and federal laws. You will also assist the Division Chief and Civic Engagement & Community Impact Programs Manager in the planning and development of projects, including the annual county election officials' conference, ballot certification, the Governor's Civic Engagement Award, the county language access workgroup, and reapportionment of election districts. Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment Work hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 60-minute lunch. Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, with three in-office days per week. This position currently requires in-office work on Wednesdays, with the other two in-office days to be determined. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Such training as may have been gained through graduation from a four year college or university; or Any equivalent combination of experience and training. Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.
