DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this role, you will be participating in a training program designed to develop technical competence in the understanding and application of basic actuarial standards and procedures. Focus will be on conformity to Pennsylvania insurance laws related to the analysis of life and health or property and casualty insurance rates, rating procedures, rating plans, schedules and rules.As part of the training, you will review, approve, or disapprove rate and/or rule filings under the direct supervision of the Actuarial Supervisor, assist with the review of statutory statistical plans, and assist in the preparation of information and testimony to be used in administrative hearings and court proceedings. You will assist with research, the administration of data calls, and have the opportunity to increase insurance and actuarial knowledge and skills through seminars, webinars, literature and other available resources.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment. Work hours are 7:30 am to 4:00 pm, Monday - Friday, with 60-minute lunch. Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) full-time, 1 day per month in the office. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Completion of one part of the Society of Actuaries examination or Casualty Actuarial Society examination; or An associate degree that includes 12 college credits in actuary science, data science, finance, economics, mathematics, statistics, or a closely related field; or An equivalent combination of experience and training that includes 12 college credits in actuary science, data science, finance, economics, mathematics, statistics, or a closely related field.
