The Office of the Budget is seeking an Executive Financial Associate, within the Human Services accounting unit, to assist with Pennsylvania's state and federal accounting and ensure sound fiscal responsibility of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania's resources. This is a dynamic entry-level position within the Executive Accounting Series. The Office of the Budget is supportive of career growth opportunities and candidates in this job title may be promoted into an Executive Accounting Specialist upon successful completion of a probationary period and at least one year as an Executive Financial Associate. DESCRIPTION OF WORK As an Executive Financial Associate, you will assist the human services unit in providing professional accounting and reporting services, guidance, and oversight of the Commonwealth's human services appropriations. You will assist with a wide array of financial and budgetary accounting responsibilities, including financial reconciliations, general ledger postings, monitoring of payment interfaces, fiscal analysis, regulatory compliance, and financial reporting, among others. You will work both individually and as part of a team on financial projects, and assist as a liaison to the PA Department of Human Services and other agencies. We are looking for someone who possesses a knowledge of financial reporting and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), demonstrates analytical proficiency, and is able to independently achieve work responsibilities.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with 60-minute lunch. Your headquarters is 555 Walnut Street, Harrisburg. You will be required to report to headquarters to pick up your equipment and attend periodic meetings at your expense. Telework: You may be expected to work from home (telework) full-time, with occasional in-office days when work dictates such requirements. Please keep in mind that while this is a full-time telework position, that can change at any time at the Governor's discretion. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. All new employees with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will start at the minimum salary of $49,839.00 (before taxes). QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Three years as an Accounting Assistant (commonwealth title) and completion of 21 college credits in accounting and an additional 3 credits in finance or accounting; or Two years as a Fiscal Technician (commonwealth title) and completion of 21 college credits in accounting and an additional 3 credits in finance or accounting; or A bachelor's degree including 21 credits in accounting and an additional 3 credits in finance or accounting; or An equivalent combination of experience and training that includes 21 college credits in accounting and an additional 3 credits in finance or accounting.
