Garnet Health (formerly Greater Hudson Valley Health) Emergency Room - RN in Harris, New York

Overview: The Garnet Health Medical Center Catskills is seeking Emergency Room Registered Nurses.

The Registered Nurse will be responsible for implementing the Nursing Process based on established Standards of Practice and ensuring all patient care policies and procedures are adhered to in accordance with Garnet Health Hospital policies, the Nurse Practice Act, and the New York State Licensure requirements. The Registered Nurse will be able to exhibit critical thinking, effectively organize and triage prioritize accordingly, and implement evidence-based nursing.

Hiring for both full time and part time positions, Monday to Sunday, all shifts available, shifts offering PDM to Fulltime.

Requirements: Licenses/Certificates required: Currently licensed and registered in NY State to practice as a registered professional nurse. On hire, a valid Basic Life Support course completion card, issued by an organization approved by the Hospital, must be presented. BLS renewal not required once ACLS is obtained. Within three months of assignment, employee will attend a hospital sponsored Crisis Training Program and will attend at least annually for the duration of employment. Within three months of assignment, the following classes will be completed, with a valid course completion card issued by an organization approved by the hospital, must be presented and employee will maintain a valid card for the duration of employment. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).

Physical Exam and Reference check are required. Minimum Education: Associates in Nursing required, Bachelors preferred. Minimum Experience: 9 months

Skills needed to perform the job:

Nine months Medical-Surgical, Critical Care, Emergency, or Progressive Care experience require. BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC. Clinical thinking skills in critical setting. Position will primarily be medium to light work requiring lifting and / or carrying objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Bending, twisting, stooping, kneeling. Salary: $41.46 hourly. Benefits include health insurance, dental insurance, paid vacation, paid sick leave, holidays, and 401k / Retirement.
