Waste Connections Landfill Laborer in Harper, Kansas

Waste Connections is looking for a safety conscience Landfill Laborer to join our team in Harper, Kansas.

PAY:

• $17 per hour working around 50 hours a week. Every hour after 40 is paid overtime.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

•Checking trucks in and out of the landfill and directing traffic at site as necessary.

•Manual labor including paper picking, keeping landfill clean and presentable.

•Perform yard work including cutting weeds.

•Install temporary wind fences as required.

•Help direct temporary worker team

•Perform general office maintenance and repairs including painting and janitorial work.

•Operating support equipment

•Working outside in all weather conditions.

•Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:

•Work involves constant exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, toxic chemicals, bio hazardous materials, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, and/or loud noises

•Extensive physical activity. Requires strenuous physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects over 50 pounds.

•Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

•Ability to adhere to Company policies and rules that are set forth; promotes the Company’s safety standards; work with a sense of honesty, integrity and trustworthiness.

•Ability to adhere to work schedule and follow through on challenges as they arise

•One year of stable employment history in a similar environment.
