Sam's Graces Café, LLC, located in Petoskey, Michigan, is seeking 2 temporary full-time line cooks.  Sam's Graces Cafe, LLC is a full-service restaurant serving delicious made-from-scratch food for breakfast, lunch and dinner -- including pizza, bread and pastries. Sam's Graces Cafe, LLC will provide all the necessary tools, equipment and supplies without charge or deposit and on-the-job training.

The workdays and hours may vary, but will generally be from 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM, from Wednesday to Sunday; 40 hours a week with overtime periodically required.  If there are more than 40 hours worked in a week, he or she will be paid time-and-a-half for all hours worked more than 40 hours.  The employer guarantees to offer work for hours equal to at least three-fourths of the workdays in each 12-week period of the total employment period.  The worker will be paid weekly, and Sam's Graces Cafe, LLC will use a single workweek as its standard for computing wages due.  The job position is for temporary need starting May 20, 2024 and ending October 31, 2024.  Sam's Graces Cafe, LLC is a full-service restaurant serving delicious made-from-scratch food for breakfast, lunch and dinner -- including pizza, bread and pastries. will make all appropriate deductions from the worker's paycheck as required by law and will not intend to withhold any deductions that are not required by law.  

Sam's Graces Cafe, LLC is located at 324 East Mitchell Street, Petoskey, MI 49770.  Seeking 2 temporary f/t line cooks in Petoskey, MI with a start date of 05/20/2024 and an end date of 10/31/2024. 

JOB DUTIES

  • Prepare food items for cooking including washing, peeling and cutting fruits and vegetables and slicing of breads, meats and cheeses;
  • Prepare sauces according to the restaurant's recipes;
  • Inspect and clean food preparation areas, such as equipment, work surfaces, and storage and dish areas, to ensure safe and sanitary food-handling practices; and
  • Cook various breakfast, lunch and dinner menu items as ordered by customers.

COMPENSATION

  • The worker's rate of pay is $15.73 per hour.  If the worker exceeds 40 hours a week, the overtime pay rate is $23.60 per hour.
  • Sam's Graces Cafe, LLC will reimburse all fees associated with the H-2B worker in the first workweek, such as a visa, visa processing, border crossing, and other related costs, including those mandated by the government (excluding passport fees).
  • Transportation (including meals and, to the extent necessary, lodging) to the place of employment will be provided, or its cost to workers reimbursed, if the worker completes half the employment period.
  • The daily subsistence will be at least $15.88 per day during travel to a maximum of $59 per day with receipts.
  • Return transportation will be provided if the worker completes the employment period or is dismissed early by the employer.
  • Employer will assist workers in locating or securing housing upon request, the employer will not provide or pay for housing.
