UTZ Quality Foods Inc Continuous Improvement Project Manager in Hanover, Pennsylvania

Reference #: 5001075954806 Utz Quality Foods is seeking a Continuous Improvement Project Manager to work out of our High Street facility in Hanover, PA. The required shift is Monday-Friday 7:00AM-5:00PM, or 6:00AM-4:00PM. The CI Project Manager will be responsible for directing process improvement activities to ensure that the overall business objectives are achieved, as well as provide support, guidance, and action to drive lean behaviors targeting elimination of waste and variation from our manufacturing and business processes.

Candidates must have 3-5 years of relevant work experience, however, a degree in Industrial/Mechanical/Chemical Engineering is required, experience in continuous improvement and experience with implementation of Lean Manufacturing principles and tools. Knowledge and understanding of Six Sigma methodology is required. Six Sigma Green Belt certification is required, Black Belt certification is preferred. Candidates must be proficient in Microsoft Office and other database programs, possess the ability to communicate effectively (both verbally and written), and be an effective trainer/motivator. Candidates must be self-starters, detail oriented, highly motivated, and organized with the ability to prioritize and follow through and possess the ability to quickly develop an in-depth working knowledge of applicable company procedures. The position requires occasional travel (domestically to other plants) to support CI implementation and work flexible hours to manage a multi shift operation. Experience in the food and beverage manufacturing industry with packaging and processing equipment desired.

Continuous Improvement Project Manager: Responsible to work with the plant level CI resources and site leadership teams to establish and implement lean/CI project initiatives. Responsible for planning and execution of Utz Lean Sigma development program. Will be responsible for providing coaching and mentoring on project management skills, team facilitation, project execution and development of project cost savings. Develop & deliver presentations and conduct basic training courses associated to continuous improvement. Work with area managers/supervisors regarding process improvement opportunities within their organizations. Ensure plant activities adhere to lean standards i.e. material flow, set-up reduction, 6S & workplace organization, communication cells, TPM etc... Develop and maintain standard operating procedures for existing processes and procedures. Develop and maintain business performance measures and conduct analysis of data to identify improvement opportunities. Survey and analyze best practices for measurement techniques and processes. Provide support to managers/supervisors for data analysis, Collect and analyze data to identify root cause.
