Bear Mountain Health Care Infection Preventionist RN in Hanover, New Hampshire

Bear Mountain Hanover Terrace Health & Rehabilitation Center is looking for RN Infection Preventionist to join our team. The Infection Preventionist is a qualified Registered Nurse that would be responsible for the facility infection prevention and control program (IPCP), which is designed to provide a safe, sanitary, and comfortable environment and to help prevent the development and transmission of communicable diseases and infections.

Responsiblities to include but not limited to:

  • Develop, implement and oversee Infection Prevention and Control Program within the facility in accordance with regulatory guidelines.

  • Collaborate with facility leadership and the medical director to develop, implement, and evaluate the annual infection prevention goals and action plan

  • Partner with facility leaders, physicians, and local, state, and national agencies on activities related to infection prevention

  • Establish a facility-wide system for the prevention, identification, investigation, and control of infections of residents, staff, and visitors, including surveillance designed to identify possible communicable diseases or infections before they spread

  • Conduct outbreak investigations

  • Maintain a system for reporting possible incidents of communicable diseases to local, state, or national agencies as required

  • Oversee the antibiotic stewardship program and monitor residents’ antibiotic use

  • Assess the need for, develop, and present IPCP in-service education for individual departments, general orientation, and annual review as needed

  • Maintain and follow current state, federal, and local guidelines and regulation in regards to infection prevention and communicable diseases to assure facility remains up to date on the most recent information and guidelines.

Qualifications :

  • Current and in good standing Registered Nurse licensure in N.H.

  • Previous experience in Skilled Nursing Facility or other Long Term Care Setting Prefered

  • Certification in Infection Prevention or willingness to complete educational requirements while employed and performing tasks under current DNS whom holds current IP certification.

Primary hours of position Mon-Fri 8am-4:30 pm with some flexibility in daily hours available.

Some weekend or off-hour flexibility in time may be required dependent on needs of facility
