Cisco Test Development Engineer in Hanoi, Vietnam

Who You'll Work With

Product Operations is part of Supply Chain Operations (SCO) and is responsible for New Product Introduction (NPI) and Product Life Cycle Management from Manufacturing and SCO perspective. The product Operations team gets engaged with the Design Engineering teams early in the Product development phase and are responsible for all the NPI Product Launch and supports the Products till the End of Life (EOL).

What You'll Do

  • Understand the Cisco Product Design & Test Methodology by collaborating with Product Design & Engineering Team.

  • Early Design Engagement to enhance the DFM/DFT requirements /enhancement opportunities & provide the timely feedback to design team to improve the same.

  • Develop MFG Test strategy by understanding the Product design and functionality through Cisco design specifications such as Hardware Functional Specification, System Functional Specification & Diagnostics Functional Specification etc..

  • Act as a Technical representative/POC for Cisco’s Contract Manufacturer for any Product related technical queries & debug support as needed.

  • Develop & produce clean, an efficient and scalable Test Automation code as per cisco guideline & support out contract Manufacturer as needed.

  • Cross-BU/Product Family support.

Who You Are

  • Bachelor’s degree / Graduate in Electronics/Computer Science Engineering

  • Above 7 years of work experience in Hardware Product Design & Validation & exposure to Test Automation using any of test framework with strong Software Development knowledge using C/C++/Python Scripting Language.

Skill Requirement:

  • Basic understanding of Product Design Cycle, Hardware Development process & Debug.

  • Familiar with industry specifications and requirements of Product Testing.

  • Familiar with Software development process, Unit level testing and Life cycle Management.

  • Experience of working in a New Product Introduction (NPI) team & understanding Manufacturing Process.

  • Strong programming skill in object oriented programming language, such as Java/Python. Python experience will be preferred since that is the programming language used in Apollo platform, but should be able to pick up quite easily if the person has experience in other programming languages

  • Basic computer network knowledge, e.g. what is IP address/MAC address/netmask etc.

  • Some level of understanding on hardware architecture/components, e.g. what is a CPU, ASIC, firmware vs OS etc.

  • Debug/troubleshooting skill

  • Manufacturing test operation experience

  • Familiar with Linux operating system is a plus, as AP2 still run on Linux, as well as diag shell.

  • Familiar with version control platform such as GitHub/BitBucket is a plus

  • Strong communication skills

  • Project Management skills

Technology Preference: Telecom/Networking Product Experience, Hardware Protocols such as PCIe, I2C, SPC, xMII, SerDes, RS232, DDR2/3/4, ARM Processor etc

Others:

  • Fluency in English and local language, both written and verbal

  • Able to work independently with minimal instruction and committed.

  • Able to collaborate with others

  • Proactive and willing to learn new technology/system

  • This candidate works remotely & co-located to Cisco Contract Manufacturer location/facility

  • Flexibility to various time zones is important.
