Google Reliability Engineer, Pixel Hardware in Hanoi, Vietnam

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent practical experience.

  • 4 years of experience with Failure Modes and Effects Analysis, Design of Experiments (DOE), data and SPC analysis.

  • 4 years of experience in applying Design for Reliability techniques and experiences with quality and reliability testing.

  • Experience working with APAC based manufacturing partners and manufacturing processes.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Engineering.

  • Experience developing and qualifying high complexity, high volume consumer hardware products with various modules built into them, that operate in indoor and outdoor environments.

  • Knowledge of Industry Test Standards (i.e., JEDEC, ASTM, IEEE).

  • Great analytical and organizational skills, coupled with a well-focused attention to details. Ability and commitment to produce a timely and accurate results.

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Excellent detail-oriented engineer with exceptional problem solving skills.

As a Reliability Engineer, you will play a key role in creating new consumer electronic products that meet a high bar for reliability and performance. You will work closely with the product management and design engineering teams to define standards, specify tests, and then supervise test execution and failure analysis. A broad engineering background and command of statistical methods will help to inform design of new products. Your strong interpersonal and communication skills will be key to ensuring adoption of your technical recommendations.

  • Translate product management reliability goals into appropriate testable goals.

  • Perform statistical data analysis, Accelerated Life Testing (ALT) and modeling, and risk assessment.

  • Maintain key relationships with Contract Manufacturer (CM) partners, testing labs, and internal groups.

  • Drive the failure analysis process for all failures discovered during reliability testing. Lead the failure analysis process with internal and external cross-functional teams for all failures discovered during reliability testing.

  • Develop test plans, execute them, plan and manage resources (i.e., internal and external resources and equipment), and develop and present reports. Manage product reliability from prototype stage all the way through to end of life.
