Job Requirements

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Verify all safety devices are operating correctly at start of each shift using safety check off list.

  • Report all safety concerns to Team Leader / Shift Manger / Maintenance

  • Immediately report any unsafe act or condition.

  • Operate and maintain the machines according to the priorities established by the Supervisor.

  • Comply with all Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Control Plans and work instructions related to the production area including correct material, instructions and quality.

  • Ensures that Line Operators are also operating within compliance.

  • Verify equipment control settings are in compliance with Control Plan prior to line operation.

  • Under the direction of the Team Leader, lead and direct members of the production line.

  • Responsible for the operation of equipment and production of product as follows:

  • Part number and quantity of product to meet schedule requirements provided by Team Leader.

  • The product meets the design and quality specifications.

  • The product is packed and labeled in accordance with the Control Plan.

  • Equipment is operated and maintained in accordance to SOP / Control Plan.

  • Ensure Line Hour-By-Hour production board data is always current..

  • Ensure line is staged with proper materials prior to die sets and assist die setters as needed.

  • Type and quantity of product built that will support the shipping schedule as provided by the Team Leader/Kanbans.

  • Meet the customer’s quality requirements through the inspection of product according to the SOP.

  • Ensure line is properly fed with either raw materials or work-in-process at all times.

  • Troubleshoot problems that may impact productivity, scrap or product quality. Immediately inform Team Leader of actions taken or risk of below target performance.

  • Lead in setting up lines. Check all line settings in Control Plan; document any changes needed and give them to the Supervisor.

  • Develop and maintain open lines of communication with the rest of the line so that off-target performance is immediately recognized and addressed.

  • Complete Cell Production Form correctly for each order produced at the end of the production run or shift, whichever is sooner.

  • Properly dispose of all scrap and waste material.

  • Be the Champion of 6S to ensure work cell and surrounding areas are clean and well organized at all times.

  • Ensure the safe operation of equipment and tools and practice safe working habits at all times including team members.

  • Assist with training of Line Operators.

  • Cross train on other production lines to maximize operating flexibility.

  • Perform basic Oracle transactions - - accountable for accurate reporting of materials used, scrap and good piece counts.

Other:

  • Must adhere to all company and location policies and safety rules

  • Must be able to work extended hours when required

  • All other duties as assigned
