Job Title: Casting Technician

Job Description

  • Will be working in the casting department where you will be forming cast and responsible for maintain quality of product.

  • Operate and maintain casting furnaces.

  • Coordinate job numbers with correct alloy, weight, and temperature per PMS.

  • Ensure that charges are properly identified and correspond to appropriate numbers and lot routers.

  • Transport ingots of alloy to work unit utilizing hoist to lift to specific areas and load into chamber box/charge box.

  • Handle molds from pre-heat furnace to casting furnace.

  • Monitor gauges to assure correct settings, accurate pour speed, and appropriate crucible size for melting process.

  • Determine accurate pump down time to prescribed vacuum levels.

  • Replace crucibles and pack crucibles using grog according to best practices.

  • Record temperature at unit and signal team operators to remove mold from preheat.

  • Clean and remove all metal from splash guards, crucible blocks, and furnace.

  • Comply with all company attendance policies and guidelines; this includes, but is not limited to, regular attendance and assigned overtime.

Required Skills

  • Basic understanding of industrial and mechanical drawings

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed yet uninvolved written or oral instructions

  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations

Shifts Available:

  • Weekend Shift: Days

  • 6:00am-6:00pm, Friday - Sunday, Paid out for a full 40 hours

  • Weekend Shift: Nights

  • 6:00pm-6:00am, Friday - Sunday, Paid out for a full 40 hours

Job Type

  • This is a permanent/direct placement position.

Work Environment

  • Large manufacturing facility, 500 employees, mostly climate controlled industrial environment there are hot areas due to machines

Additional Information:

  • Minimum Education requirement- must have a high school diploma to qualify

  • This position can be entry level if you are interested please apply - open to a variety of experience and different level of skill sets.
