Overview

REPORTS TO:Corps Officers

SUPERVISES:Volunteers and designated seasonal staff.

STATUS:Non-Exempt

SCHEDULE:37-40 hours per week

FUNCTION:The function is to support the Corps Officers in all ministry and related aspects within the Corps. General roles for this position includes teaching, preaching, leading, programming, assisting with programs and activities within the Corps and community, and to participate from fundraising efforts. All these efforts with the intention to share Christian Biblical principles and values that will promote the mission of The Salvation Army.

Responsibilities

Assist the Corps Officers with the development, planning, and implementation of programs and activities including but not limited to:

  • Assist with Sunday school, Bible studies, worship services, devotionals, and preaching.

  • Assist in leading, developing, and programing activities for women's ministries, children, and youth.

  • Assist with transportation for Corps related programs and activities.

  • Assist with Corps related fundraising efforts and events by attending, programming, transporting, managing, or supervising volunteers or staff.

  • Assist with Corps social services aspects such as soup kitchen, food pantry, food distribution, and seasonal assistance efforts as requested by Corps Officers.

  • Assist with opening and closing the facilities during regular and extraordinary programs and events as requested by the Corps Officers.

  • Assist with Corps general daily activities and procedures as requested by the Corps Officers.

  • Attend training and educational opportunities as requested by the Corps Officers.

  • Assist with chaperone duties as requested by Corps Officers.

Qualifications

  • Must be a uniformed Salvationist in good standing.

  • Must appreciate and understand the mission of The Salvation Army.

  • Must uphold Christian Biblical values and standards in all practices.

  • Must conduct oneself in a way that reflects credit on Christian principles, The Salvation Army, and its leadership.

  • Must support The Salvation Army by fiscal support of the local Corps.

  • Bilingual (Speaks Spanish and English)
