The Co-Occurring Therapist plans, organizes, and implements clinical social work/ counseling services to consumers and families under the clinical supervision of a qualified supervisor. Plans for discharge and aftercare. Maintains contact with referring agencies and related people, and with community resources used for referral. Maintains treatment records. The individual demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development appropriate to the consumer population served. He or she must be able to assess and interpret data about the consumer’s status in order to identify each consumer’s needs and provide the appropriate care, including age-related care, needed by the consumer group. The individual demonstrates knowledge of the stages of change, a wellness and recovery model, and placement criteria as outlined in the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) patient placement guide.

Legacy Treatment Services is a behavioral and mental health social services agency. Legacy providers services to over 20,000 adults, youth, and adolescents throughout 17 counties in New Jersey. Legacy’s mission is to change the behavioral health and social service outcomes for people of all ages from surviving to thriving.

Hours:

Full time, some evening hours required.

This is a 40 hour full time benefitted position which includes some evenings required:

    Education/Experience:

    MSW from an accredited school of social work or Masters Degree or doctorate in counseling with at least one year of experience required and actively working towards certification as a CADC or licensure as a LCADC based on requirements set forth by governing authority or, actively working towards another health professional license that includes work of an alcohol and drug counseling nature within its scope of practice. License required, if applicable.
