Description

SUMMARY STATEMENT

This position is responsible for supporting the radiography program skills/positioning laboratories in conjunction with program faculty. This position requires the use of simulation and other technologies that assists students in meeting program outcomes.  

 

This is a temporary, part-time position, that may include up to 29 hours per week.

 

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS

A.    Assists faculty to assess the positioning lab curriculum for each program course.

 

B.    Supports program faculty to plan a comprehensive lab positioning curriculum for each course. This includes the development of purpose, objectives, outcomes, and learning activities.

 

C.    Supports the implementation of the lab positioning curriculum in conjunction with faculty, using a variety of patient care equipment and supplies, and energized radiography-based instruction tools and programs.

 

D.    Collaboratively works with faculty to ensure students' achievement of learning outcomes through evaluation of lab competencies and skill assessment tests, reflecting the curriculum.

 

E.    Works with radiography faculty to ensure the availability of properly functioning equipment and supplies.

 

F.    Assists faculty to set up supplies and equipment for each skill positioning lab.

 

G.    Assesses all equipment to ensure proper maintenance and function in relation to manufacturer recommendation.

 

H.    Maintains labs in a clean and orderly fashion.

 

I.    Participates in division and college wide committees and activities as appropriate.

 

Requirements

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Satisfactory completion of an accredited radiography program, an Associate's degree required, Bachelor's degree preferred, registration by A.R.R.T. in Radiography, possess a current Maryland Medical Radiation Technologist license, and 2 years clinical experience in a medical radiography setting.

 

SKILLS AND ABILITITIES

Excellent organization and management skills. Ability to work with clinical simulation and clinical technology. Knowledge of diagnostic and patient care supplies and equipment. Knowledge of the Internet, Microsoft Word and Excel.  Ability to establish good working relationships with staff, students, and the community. Able to organize and prioritize work, make decisions independently, and attend to details.
