Industry leading, very reputable and well established manufacturing company is looking for a promotable Mining Supervisor in the Hagerstown, MD area. This is not a remote or hybrid position so all candidates must be willing to work 100% of the time in a manufacturing plant.

This role comes with a very competitive compensation plan commensurate with experience with a base salary ranging from $100k to $105k plus a 20% annual target bonus and relocation assistance.

All candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.

responsibilities:

Responsible to support the quarry operation in all technical aspects of mining and geological engineering :

-Short and medium term mine planning and sequencing, including ground control, surveying, creating and updating AutoCAD drawings, and improvement plans.

-Short term mine production planning o Mobile equipment performance tracking and improvement plans.

-Rock quality control and optimization, from the mine to the prehomo, aimed at providing required material quality as well as maximizing rock reserves.

-Utilization of KPI tracking, including database management, to develop and implement efficient and low cost mining practices and conditions. Use of this data to suggest and implement productivity improvements in all aspects of the quarry operation.

-Mine design improvements aimed at improving safety, fleet and manpower efficiency, and costs.

-Drilling and blasting program (BOT) performance tracking and improvements plans aimed at improving safety, environmental compliance, performance, and costs.

-Implementation of engineering projects as specified by quarry strategic mine plans.

-Specific planning and sequencing of surface mining operations around and/or on top of historical underground workings. This includes coordination with technical consultants, mine planning and sequencing, blast performance monitoring, ground control and surveying, and creating and updating drawings.

-Operation of mining technology as required, including drones, survey devices, and software.

-Water control tracking, optimization, and related projects.

-Research, Implement and utilize cutting edge mining tools and methods such as the use of GPS, mine planning and scheduling software, continuous equipment data collections systems, automation, etc. aimed at safe, low cost, high efficiency quarry operations.

-Manage, from concept to completion, quarry improvement projects.

-Ensure continuing efforts towards optimization and improvement of mine production.

-Support for day to day quarry contractor management.

-Support and/or participate in the Quarry improvement groups, committees, programs, etc.

-Responsible to assist the Quarry Manager in the preparation of annual budgets based on annual production rate, productivity improvement needs and TYTP requirements.

-Responsible to follow established medium and long term mine plans, or request changes to the corporate mining and raw materials technical group. ? Support Argos corporate mining and raw materials initiatives and projects.

-Responsible for maintaining upward and downward communication with peers and subordinates.

-Work with quarry hourly personnel to accomplish optimization goals

-Responsible for maintaining MSHA required documentation.

-Relief supervision when needed.

-Other tasks as assigned

SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES:

-Holistic understanding and support of the quarry operation aimed at a safe operation that meets environmental requirements, respects long and medium term mine strategy, delivers customer requirements, and drives an efficient and low cost mining operation.

-Technical support for quarry operations.

-Ensure short, medium, and long term mine plan supports mine production requirements in terms of tonnage and chemistry.

-Support and implement corporate mining and raw material initiatives.

-Achievement of product quality commitments (MQOs).

-Achievement of cost commitments (budget and forecasts).

-Operating within operating permits (air, water, etc.)

-Follow and provide leadership in all safe work rules and practices.

-Communicate any safety, environmental, or operational concerns to management.

-Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements for the quarry mining and reclamation.

QUALIFICATIONS: Educational Requirements:

-Minimum BS in Mining or Geological Engineering preferred, a BS in engineering or other technical field with mining or mineral processing experience accepted. Experience/Skills Requirements:

-Commitment to safety

-Minimum 5 years of engineering experience

-Interest in career development

-Requires proven experience with all aspects of mine planning using computerized systems working with GPS, AutoCAD and or similar drawing programs.

-Proven technical experience with drilling and blasting, mine planning, fleet tracking and optimization, rock quality control, and operations

-Excellent leadership skills

-Excellent communication skills

-Ability to achieve success by managing multiple tasks and objectives

-Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

-Ability to be successful working with limited direct supervision

-Excellent planning skills

-Well-developed written and verbal communication skills
