Cayuse Holdings Junior Marine Engineer in Hagatna, Guam

Overview

The Junior Marine Mechanic/Engineer, under the supervision of the Senior Marine Mechanic/Engineer, will perform preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, and repairs to all systems categorized as Hull, Mechanical, Electrical(HME), and Hydraulic. The Junior Marine Mechanic/Engineer reports to the Boat Captain while underway. All duties and responsibilities will be performed by the Business Intelligence Analyst per the Core Values of Cayuse.

Responsibilities

  • The Junior Marine Mechanic/Engineer will report all discrepancies to the Senior Marine Mechanic/Engineer

  • The Junior Marine Mechanic/Engineer will be qualified to fill the Senior Marine Mechanic/Engineer position for Underway Mission Support, in the absence of the Senior Marine Mechanic/Engineer

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • US Coast Guard (USCG) Wiper license

  • Must pass a pre-employment drug check

  • Secret Clearance required.

  • Must be able to pass a background check. May require additional background checks as required by projects and/or clients at any time during employment

Minimum Skills:

  • Ability to multitask and work independently

  • Excellent time management skills and ability to multitask and prioritize work

  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills

  • Perform well in a position of trust and responsibility

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Reports to : Senior Mechanic/Engineer

Working Conditions

  • Must be physically and mentally able to perform duties for extended periods of time.

  • Must be able to establish a productive and professional workspace.

  • Must be able to work indoors and outdoors on a boat.

  • Must be able to work varying work schedules and/or extended hours to meet business needs and project deadlines.

  • Must be able to work in any condition like bending, twisting, and standing to execute normal job duties.

  • May be exposed to very hot or cold temperatures.

  • Ability to perform duties for an extended period of time

  • Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed to meet the demands of the duties.

  • May be asked to travel for business or professional development purposes.
