Plainville Farm Farm workers and laborers; Crop in Hadley, Massachusetts

Date of Need:5/2/2024 to 11/28/2024 Duties may include; drive and operate farm machinery to plant, cultivate, maintain and harvest vegetables. Workers are required to set up, dismantle and maintain irrigation systems. Workers must be able to recognize different labels for packing purposes, and be able to give and receive detailed instructions. Tobacco duties may include but are not limited to; applying fertilizer, apply general use or any restricted use pesticide under the direct supervision of a certified applicator, cutting, spearing, hanging crop, taking down and stripping off leaves and bundling. Must be extremely careful not to damage leaves. Might drive tractor for loading and unloading trailers into barns. Must be able to handle 30 lbs. 20ft off the ground while standing on wooden poles. May set up, operate, and repair farm machinery and farm buildings. May participate in irrigation activities. All work is physically demanding and is performed al weather conditions. All work requires bending, stooping, lifting and ability to carry up to 50 lbs. on a frequent basis. Workers will need one month experience in vegetable and tobacco production.
