Job Title: Medical AssistantJob Description

We are seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to join our team. You will utilize Medent as an EMR for patient records and coordinate surgeries for physicians at OINJ with local hospitals. Your responsibilities include setting up pre-testing and medical clearances for surgery, completing prior authorizations, and handling surgical centers, Atlantic Health System, and RWJ hospitals for scheduling. You will support 2-3 providers, and if handling 3 providers, you will not complete prior authorizations. Additional duties involve managing the appointment calendar, scheduling patient visits, coordinating with medical staff availability, handling incoming calls, verifying patient insurance coverage, maintaining patient records, processing insurance claims, creating invoices, managing patient billing, providing patients with treatment information, and ordering medical supplies and equipment.

This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 6 Month(s).

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Hackettstown, New Jersey.

Work Environment

You will work with around 7 people in the scheduling and prior authorization department. The team consists of a mix of members with over 10 years of tenure and newer members. After 90 days of tenure, you can work from home 2 days a week using your own equipment. The shift is Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 4 PM or 9 AM to 5 PM. During busy times of the year, such as year-end, there can be some flexibility. You will mainly be assigned to one doctor. The team operates exclusively in Sparta, despite having 7 sites in the network (Sparta, Morristown, Randolph, Hackettstown (2), Newton, Cedar Knolls).
