Entrust Sr Software Developer - C# /.net in Haarlem, Netherlands

Career Growth, Flexibility and Collaboration!

Entrust is dedicated to keeping the world moving safely by enabling trusted identities, payments, and data protection around the globe. Headquartered in Minnesota, we offer our colleagues the ability to work globally, in a flexible and collaborative environment. Our team makes an impact!!

The Company: Entrust relies on curious, dedicated and innovative individuals whom anticipate the future and provide solutions for a more connected, mobile and secure world. Entrust’s technologies and expertise help government agencies, enterprises and financial institutions in more than 150 countries serve and safeguard citizens, employees and consumers.

We Believe: Securing identities is most effective when we value all identities. We are committed to ensuring that, through diversity and inclusion, the many voices that make up our communities are heard. From unconscious bias training for managers to global affinity groups that create connections both within and across our enterprise, Entrust expects and encourages all individuals to accept and respect one another. And, of course, to be themselves.

Are you a proactive Software Engineer, good at programming, and are you looking for a unique opportunity within a fast-growing organization? Then we would like to get in touch with you!

The job

In this versatile role, you will use your degree of freedom as a Software Engineer to take responsibility in solving the problem at hand. You understand that not religiously following an agile method moves responsibility to you to do whatever is needed, and not rely on the two-weekly refinement (for example). New types of exploits, mitigations, loopholes and practices tickle your curiosity to no end. While colleagues see code changes as cool new stuff, you spot potential injection vulnerabilities from afar. And whenever you spot new code, you enjoy bringing the team to the next level by sharing your insights. We expect that you solve problems regardless of the tool, library or framework of the day. You know how to work with C#, and you build high-quality solutions. This is reflected in your human-friendly written code, which is well documented and accompanied by sane tests. At Signhost we're serious about cultivating a low-meeting environment where you, as our Software Engineer, can be effective. We take agile serious and therefore don't strictly adopt scrum, kanban or say xp. You take work from a prioritized kanban board and then do whatever is necessary to bring that work into production. In addition, we expect that:

  • You understand git well enough for daily use with the commandline. Our history will be enriched with your developer warstories in a readable and clean way.

  • You strive to have a clean source control history and use its benefits. You are able to use git to the fullest.

  • You know JavaScript/Typescript well enough to not need a npm package to solve problems, but write your own routines.

  • You can find your way in our data stores, such as sql databases, object stores, nosql stores, queues and other nosql stores.

  • Experience in working with Vue.js and experience in working in a transactional cloud environment is a plus.

  • You have proven experience with programming in C#/.NET Framework.

  • We don't expect you to know it all and have done it all. We expect you to be candid in whatever you do not know. FroZijm there, we trust you'll take a (deep) dive whenever you think that's needed!

What we’re looking for

  • You have a bachelor’s or master's degree, and you are fluent in English, written and spoken.

  • You like to explore through your expertise and enthusiasm, and you easily establish collaborations.

  • You write tests like good beer. Have a couple really good ones, but never too much.

  • You take initiative in growing yourself. Either you're a self-learner or you take online courses yourself. You determine your own path for growth and choose if that path is human-centric or tech-centric.

  • You take your time and resources to solve the problem at hand, whatever you deem necessary.

  • You live close to Haarlem or Barcelona (and are willing to travel to Haarlem on a frequent basis).

What do we offer you?

  • Dynamic position in a fast-growing scale-up, with various growth and development opportunities, varied work and a lot of freedom in the way you give substance to your work;

  • Room for personal development and the possibility to follow different training courses;

  • Daily lunch with your colleagues, monthly drinks with the team and lots of other fun outings;

  • Travel Compensation, Pensionable Contributions and a telephone costs reimbursement.
