Job Information

The Operations Engineer will develop and implement plans to improve the supply chain network, material flow, parts presentation, and delivery processes in alignment with the regional material and logistic strategies.

Role & Responsibility

Continuous Improvement of Regional Material Flow Processes

  • Define appropriate materials presentation strategy and replenishment methods across the NAO region.

  • Coordinate the physical set-up of Material Flow layout areas.

  • Establish and monitor metrics relative to the regional supply chain and drive continuous improvement.

  • Create business cases and lead cross-functional project teams to achieve regional impacts

  • Advise regional leadership on container management for improved line-side presentation and material flow/replenishment signaling.

  • Calculate manpower needs for supply chain segments to include new processes for material flow and inventory accuracy.

  • Lead and develop methods for improved inventory accuracy and physical inventory processes.

Communication & Education

  • Assist in training personnel on regional supply chain material flow processes.

  • Provide work instruction to 3rd party logistics providers to ensure that material movement processes are fully functional and aligned.

  • Create and lead process improvement initiatives across the region’s supply chain network.

Streamline Material Delivery

  • Design, prototype, and implement material flow options.

  • Incorporate visual signals into kitting operations.

  • Design and implement an engineered dock door to point-of-use material handling process, including dock door utilization, transport mode, transport path, line side location, and returns cycle and path.

  • Design optimized models for inbound and outbound logistics networks.

Job Requirement

  • Knowledge of manufacturing and/or distribution processes, safety practices, quality, total preventative maintenance, and facilities layouts.

  • Experience with line and process design, material presentation, and visual management tools.

  • Lean Manufacturing experience; Black Belt certification preferred.

  • Experience using computer-aided design (ie. AutoCAD), and Oracle/SAP/MES (for transactions related to control cycles, material information, tracking, and movements).

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering-Industrial or Supply Chain Management; Equivalent allowed.

  • Experience using Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, Minitab, and Project.

  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.

  • Minimum of 7 years experience in material flow and logistics within Manufacturing/Operations or Supply Chain.

  • 2+ years experience.

  • Less than 10% travel.
