About the Role

Do you want to learn from top AWS subject matter experts? We help develop the industry’s best cloud-based solutions architects by enabling and coaching them on best practices, solution selling, presentation and speaking skills, as well as how to create and present architectures of widely varying size and complexity.

As your customer's AWS CTO, you will have the opportunity to help shape and execute a strategy to build adoption and broad use of AWS within your customers. You also have the opportunity to help customers ranging from new start-ups to large enterprises, and you will do this by mobilizing resources within AWS and working with our extensive partner network.

Key job responsibilities

As a trusted customer advocate, Solutions Architects help our customers understand best practices and are able to influence decision makers across multiple domains to ensure customer success in building applications and services on AWS which align to long-term business goals.

Serve as technical trusted advisors to our partners, you work directly with them to drive technical solutions discussions with customers, diving deep into the details to solve complex technical challenges and use your knowledge to craft scalable, flexible, and resilient cloud architectures.

Define and execute on the strategy by working backwards from customer’s business needs, driving scale and accelerates customer outcomes through partner-delivered best practices and solutions on AWS

Work backwards from your customer's business needs to accelerate adoption of the most appropriate AWS technology

Act as a thought leader in the wider community, playing a key role in educating, sharing best practices, presenting at events, writing white papers, blogs, and running workshops.

Share the voice of the customer to influence the roadmap of new features and services for the AWS platform. Proactively work within the organization to influence the evolution of the platform.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· 8+ years of experience within specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics)

· Experience creating proof of concepts, demos, and/or scripts from scratch or leveraging reusable components

· Experience communicating across technical and non-technical audiences and at C-level, including workshops and scale events

· Experience working with partners during different sales stages (qualifications, demo, POC, implementation, etc) and enablement

· Experience in developing technology solutions and evangelising end-to-end technology roadmaps that guide IT transformation toward cloud computing customers.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

· Experience architecting, migrating or transforming customer requirements to the cloud

· Knowledge of Data Analytics or Generative AI or Application Modernization solutions, able to design and articulate business value from technical solutions.

· Cloud native knowledge like Snowflake, Databricks, Anthropic, etc

· Knowledge of distributed systems design and implementation, large scale automation and workflow management, database design and implementation and articulating business value from technical solutions

· Knowledge of on-premises business applications, such as ERP, POS, etc.

· Demonstrated ability to adapt to new technologies and learn quickly

· One or more valid AWS Certifications, such as, AWS Solutions Architect, or a similar cloud certification

· Presentation and whiteboarding skills with a high degree of comfort speaking with internal and external executives, IT management, and developers.

As a Senior Solutions Architect you’ll own the overall technical relationship between customers, AWS and partners, and make recommendations on security, cost, performance, reliability and operational efficiency. You will go beyond the technical solution architecture, work with partners, sellers and specialists to understand the customer's business needs and give prescriptive guidance on how to create business value with technology.

About the team

This role is within the {APJ Area/Sub-region} CSC Solution Architecture (SA) team. The CSC is the inside sales organisation of AWS and is focused on new customer acquisitions across {APJ Area/Sub-region} at scale. You will have the exciting opportunity to work cross-functionally and cross-geographically, as you collaborate with internal stakeholders from sales, operations, partner, and marketing teams, while being part of this amazing team.

Basic Qualifications

  • 8+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience

  • 3+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience

  • 10+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries experience

  • Experience communicating across technical and non-technical audiences, including executive level stakeholders or clients

  • Experience within specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics).

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of infrastructure architecture, database architecture and networking experience

  • Knowledge of AWS services, market segments, customer base and industry verticals

  • Experience working with end user or developer communities
