Job Overview:

The Senior Process Engineer applies their conceptual knowledge of process engineering and with a moderate level of guidance and direction from colleagues and leadership, is responsible for solving a range of straightforward process engineering problems. They will be responsible for analyzing possible solutions using standard procedures, as well as building knowledge of the company, processes, and customers. The Senior Process Engineer understands key business drivers and applies this knowledge to solve problems in straightforward situations through analysis of possible solutions using technical experience, judgment, and precedents.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Assist with training other engineers by providing instruction on new technologies and/or a specialization

  • Expert and looked to for technical solutions. Maintains and promotes a focus on end product whether engineering, fabrication, or construction

  • Activities will involve one or more of the following: P&ID and PFD development, Heat and Material Balances, Hydraulic Calculations, Relief Valve Sizing, Line Sizing, Pump Sizing, etc.

  • Maintain and promote a focus on end product whether engineering, fabrication, or construction

  • Communicate technical solutions and concepts to other engineers and non-engineers

  • Ensure effective communications among other engineering disciplines

  • Mentor junior Process Engineers and depending on the size and complexity of the scope of work may be assigned as the process Engineering Lead for a project

  • Ensure effective management of change

  • Adopt and leverage Engineering Standards

  • Maintain or support any site-specific requirements or standards

Essential Qualification and Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering required

  • Master of Science Degree in Chemical Engineering

  • Minimum 13+ years of chemical process design experience

  • Eager to learn

  • Working knowledge of English, both oral and written
