Your Focus

As Senior Application Specialist, you will be responsible for the development of solid technical knowledge of the entire bakery enzyme product portfolio to gain customer confidence. You will serve our customers with technical support for bakery enzyme products together with colleagues from our global organization.

The role is Gurgaon, India based and will report to Senior Group Manager, Global Application Bakery Enzymes.

How you will Contribute

  • Provide bakery customers with application support related to our functional ingredients and solutions with specific focus on bakery enzymes. The customer base will be flour millers, improver houses and industrial bakeries.

  • Plan, design and execute systematic pilot plant experiments in our application lab including instrumental and sensory evaluation of the results to optimize the product performance.

  • Document the effect of our enzyme portfolio in technical reports as well as present data via presentation for internal colleagues and customers.

  • Provide technical support in close cooperation with the sales team and your colleagues in the bakery application, including different customer facing activities such as customer visits/virtual calls, pilot plant and production trials as well as technical back up to our sales force.

  • Explore and evaluate new business opportunities and identify key success factors to win business together with sales team.

  • Participate in customer development projects as well as concepts and internal development projects.

  • Assist in the development and documentation of enzyme products throughout the commercialization process, including formulation of enzyme/functional products, technical documentation, marketing material, presentations, post-launch support, technical reports, invention disclosures and patents.

Job Requirements

What you will need to be successful

  • Bachelor’s degree and above, major in bakery, food science or have equivalent education background but with many years hands on experience from the bakery industry.

  • At least 5-8 years of experience within product development or related function from a food ingredients supplier or the baking industry, proven dedicated interest and knowledge in the specific field and relevant experience.

  • Specific experience or competencies within the use of bakery enzymes are considered a strong advantage.

  • Bread industry experience will be preferred.

  • Ability to collaboratively question customer stakeholders to identify new business opportunities as well as interact and articulate value propositions at multiple levels in the customer organizations.

  • Should be an ambitious self-starter and results-oriented person, take initiatives and are able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks with a structured approach.

  • Work independently as well as in teams and understand how to function in a large organosilicon and the importance of reaching common business objectives.

  • Customer-focused, open-minded and thrive in a highly dynamic and complex matrix organization with cultural differences.

  • Excellent reporting and record keeping skills.

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • Willing to travel.
