WTW Associate Director Actuarial Consulting - Life in Gurgaon, India

We are looking for an actuary with at least 10+ years of experience in the life insurance domain, enthusiastic to join as an associate director in our consulting practice. This role is based in Gurgaon (India) in the insurance consulting team.

Our insurance consulting and technology (ICT) practice includes over 1,300 insurance practitioners who have expertise across markets, geographies and disciplines. We also work closely with our technology team who is responsible for developing some of the most innovative and widely used life actuarial software in the market including RAFM, unify, data validator, WTW IFRS 17 enterprise solution and other tools.

As an Associate Director Insurance Consulting - Life you will

  • Manage projects, working alongside senior leadership and leading different work-streams for various projects including IFRS17 gap implementations, result analysis, computation/review of embedded value and appraisal value for shareholder reporting, mergers and acquisitions, IPO projects, and support to actuarial functions such as calculation/peer review of statutory valuations, product development/pricing, asset risk assessment, and asset-liability management.

  • Actively interact directly with clients and leadership to develop new go-to-market solutions and deliver value-added propositions, contributing to the development of new technical tools and processes and collaborating with senior leadership to plan their roll-out to the market.

  • Contribute to revenue generation by identifying new areas of offering for clients to achieve evolving business objectives, building valuable intellectual capital in the process.

  • Contribute to research and thought leadership.

  • Manage a team of junior colleagues, actively involved in developing their knowledge and ensuring their career development.

  • Interact directly with clients, build relationships, leverage existing relationships, and introduce clients to WTW offerings to enable client procurement.

  • Work collaboratively on a range of projects/internal responsibilities, managing priorities appropriately.

  • Demonstrate the WTW values of client focus, teamwork, integrity, respect, and excellence.

  • 10+ years of experience in actuarial roles in life insurance companies or consulting/financial services firms.

  • Qualified Actuary from either the Institute of Actuaries of India or the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries, UK.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Strong understanding of reserving, pricing, embedded values, and other technical actuarial topics.

  • Proficient knowledge of IFRS 17 implementation practices.

  • Experience working with actuarial software such as Prophet, RAFM, etc.

  • Skilled in writing and/or editing code in VBA, Python, SQL, or PowerShell.

  • Strong communication and analytical skills for effectively conveying judgments and results to senior leadership, as well as for identifying client solutions and mentoring junior colleagues.

  • Ability to develop innovative solutions for projects.

  • Effective team management skills.

  • Self-motivated with a proactive and energetic approach, demonstrating reliability.

  • Proficient in project management, task prioritization, and time management.

  • Willingness to travel to client sites when necessary.

  • Hands-on experience in regions beyond India/APAC.
