Software Engineer II Are you a Software Engineer looking for an innovative change? Do you enjoy working on complex projects?

About the role

This position performs complex research, design, and software development assignments within a software functional area or product line, and provides direct input to project plans, schedules, and methodology in the development of cross-functional software products. This position performs software design — typically across multiple systems; mentors more-junior members of the team; and talks to users/customers and translates their requests into solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop scalable and maintainable applications optimizing for speed and efficiency.

  • Build and manage RESTfull APIs, Microservices and other back-end services ensuring seamless integration.

  • Writing clean, well-tested, maintainable code.

  • Contributing to and directing the efforts of engineering development teams, including internal and external team members to ensure product features/issues are resolved according to SLA’s.

  • Work closely with other development team members to understand complex product requirements and translate them into software designs.

  • Work and support Australia and New Zealand time zone.

    Requirement:

  • 5+ years of Software Engineering experience

  • BS Engineering/Computer Science or equivalent experience required

  • Advanced knowledge of software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall).

  • Strong proficiency with data manipulation language including optimization techniques.

  • Development experience using JAVA or .NET and Web Services, XML, XSLT and JSON

  • Cloud Computing skills with any provider but should have exposure of implementing development solutions over cloud.

  • Experience working with MongoDB or NoSQL databases, Data lake

  • Experience of working with Docker, Microservices Architecture etc.

  • Knowledge of professional software engineering practices for the full software development life cycle including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes CI/CD.

  • Ability to work well with internal and external technology resources.

  • Good analytical and problem-solving skill, ability to complete complex bug fixes.

  • Knowledge of test-driven development.

  • Good verbal and written communications skills
